atrypical: The Flea Market
Shara strolled through the flea market, wondering at all the sights and sounds. She took a moment to admire the small shops and stalls, and passed them by for the moment, in case she saw something really worth buying. She blinked in the sun a bit, and wondered if any lower level trainers were nearby.
((OOC: If you're kinda starting out, that's your cue...))

"That was no battle, that was a slaughter." "EVEE EEVE!" "You should pick on someone your own size. Can't you see you nearly killed that poor thing?!" She growled softly. "You should be ashamed of yourself..."
Tue, Apr. 20th, 2004 03:24 pm (UTC)
The trainer of the eevee looked at Shara, "Are you joking? It was a good battle. I learned a lot and eevee learned a lot. We can't win them all, and there is a pokemon center really nearby."

"Are you sure? It looked pretty bad..."
Wed, Apr. 21st, 2004 07:41 pm (UTC)
The trainer nodded, "It looked worse than it was. But I learned a few lessons in there, especially when it comes to dealing with flying types. I didn't expect that murkrow to be that well trained."

"Well... I guess... I'm just starting out, so..." She blushed, and stared down at her Eevee.
Tue, Apr. 27th, 2004 03:42 pm (UTC)
The eevee trainer smiled, "That's ok. We all had to start somewhere." The boy held out his hand, "My name is Phil."
Tue, Apr. 27th, 2004 04:15 pm (UTC)
She shook his hand. "My name is Shara. It's nice to meet you, Phil." She smiled back.
Thu, Apr. 29th, 2004 09:13 pm (UTC)
Phil smiled, while clipping a pokeball to his belt, "So.. are you here to take on the gym? Everyone says the gym battle is really difficult, that is why I am training so hard."
Fri, Apr. 30th, 2004 03:52 pm (UTC)
"Yeah, I am. I really should train, huh?" She smiled.
Mon, May. 3rd, 2004 02:36 pm (UTC)
The boy nodded, "If you want to get anywhere, yeah. You need to train. There are some nice pokemon in the city, both good for training and capturing. How many pokemon do you have so far?"
Mon, May. 3rd, 2004 02:38 pm (UTC)
"Umm... two." She said quietly.
Wed, May. 5th, 2004 08:38 pm (UTC)
Phil laughed, "That is so funny. So do I. Eevee and whismur. Which ones do you have?"
Thu, May. 6th, 2004 04:47 am (UTC)
"Eevee and Wingull." She blushed. "Yeah, I'm so new at this."
Thu, May. 6th, 2004 01:07 pm (UTC)
Phil nodded, "That's ok. So long as you have started, that is all that matters." He made his way to the nurse that was stationed at the street fair, turning his pokeball over. "Titian city is a great place to train. Since it is one the ocean, there are many types of pokemon to battle here. Plus, the gym leader specializes in normal types, so you can find pockets of normal pokemon parks throughout the city. Some are really hidden, but it is fun for people to look for them."
Thu, May. 6th, 2004 05:01 pm (UTC)
"Really? That's cool. I'm seriously so new at this, I just started about a week ago..."
Tue, May. 11th, 2004 08:08 pm (UTC)
"Wow! That's really cool. I have been training for about a month now. I probably should look at leaving the city, but I really don't want to go until I defeat the gym leader."
Mon, May. 17th, 2004 04:25 pm (UTC)
"Yeah. I just... I'm just really bad."
Mon, May. 17th, 2004 10:26 pm (UTC)
Phil smiled, "Everyone thinks they are bad at first, but you'll catch on pretty quick. If you want, we can battle against each other, or we can go on a hunt to catch more pokemon."
Wed, May. 26th, 2004 06:50 pm (UTC)
Shara grinned. "A hunt, eh? Sounds like fun."
Wed, May. 26th, 2004 10:00 pm (UTC)
Phil nodded, "It is totally fun. We have so many options here in Titian City too! We could fish at the docks, or visit the parks in town, or go to either route just outside of town. There is also the haunted pier, where they say a bunch of ghost pokemon live."
Wed, May. 26th, 2004 10:04 pm (UTC)
"Ghost pokemon? WHEE! They're really cool, really strong, too." She grinned again.
Thu, May. 27th, 2004 10:35 pm (UTC)
"Great! Let's head out!"
Phil turned and quickly made his way to the haunted pier, his new friend following close behind. The sun had begun to go down, and crowds of people were leaving the street market and heading home for the evening. A few trainers stopped for battles in the streets, but the pair didn't stop to watch. Much more exciting prospects were ahead.
The 'haunted' pier was easy to find, since almost everyone avoided it. The whole area seemed to be darker, and felt colder than anywhere else on the docks. The boards squeeked and moaned under the weight of the two trainers as they walked the length of the pier. Strange shadows rose and fell against the abandoned buildings, and Phil could barely contain his shivers.
"Pretty cool, don't you think?" he asked.

Shara nodded, too excited to speak. She loved places like this, there was always the hint of fear, and adventure.
